ATLANTA – After a 2-0 start to Big Ten play, Indiana reverts back to nonconference action on Saturday with a neutral site matchup against the Auburn Tigers.

Playing at State Farm Arena in Atlanta is a homecoming of sorts for Indiana coach Mike Woodson, who was the head coach of the Atlanta Hawks from 2004-10.

On the other side, the Auburn Tigers and coach Bruce Pearl will make a short drive north after a 5-2 start to the season, most recently losing 69-64 at Appalachian State.

Meet the coaches

  • Bruce Pearl, Auburn: Pearl is in his 10th season at Auburn with a 192-113 overall record and an 84-78 mark in SEC play. After finishing 11th or worse in the SEC in each of Pearl's first three seasons, Auburn has since won the SEC regular season title twice, finished second once and reached the Final Four in 2019. Auburn earned a No. 2 seed in the 2022 NCAA Tournament, the school's highest since 1999, but lost in the Round of 32. Prior to Auburn, Pearl had a successful six-year run at Tennessee, going 145-61 with an Elite Eight and two Sweet 16 appearances from 2005-11. Pearl's other head coaching experience came at Milwaukee from 2001-05 and Southern Indiana from 1992-2001.
  • Mike Woodson, Indiana: Woodson is in his third season at Indiana with a 51-27 overall record and a 23-19 mark in regular season Big Ten play.
