Cayce's Two Iodines - Edgar Cayce Health Care (2024)

It is widely known that Iodine is an essential nutrient for the human body, and scientists and doctors have known for many decades about the unique properties of nascent Iodine.

Edgar Cayce discussed Iodine in numerous readings, calling it several different things such as Atomic Iodine™ and Atomidine. It was important that the Iodine was electrified, and nascent, so that the body could assimilate it more easily, as Iodine can be quite harmful if taken incorrectly. In fact, Cayce recommended using Iodine under the supervision of a doctor, stating that overuse can result in over-stimulating the thyroid gland and the heart. So while Iodine is extremely important to the system, it is also good to be well informed on how the Iodine is manufactured and how the body processes this product.

“As we find, the specific or acute conditions arising as a rash are the effects of contact with poison ivy … Bathe off the affected parts with a weak solution of Atomidine [Atomic Iodine™]; the proportions being about a teaspoonful to half a glass of water. Sponge off same with a tuft of cotton.” – Cayce

Typically, Atomidine [Atomic Iodine™] is taken in “cycles” which vary greatly depending upon the needs of each individual and should be used under the direction of a health care practitioner.

“We would take internally, to CLARIFY the drosses of system, to make for a balance of the elements necessary to make a normal functioning of the thyroids of the throat and portions where disorders arise (that is, the poisons arise in system), those of Atomic Iodine™, or Atomidine, in SMALL doses…” – Cayce

“Hence we would find the body would be materially aided by the use of small quantities of Atomidine [Atomic Iodine™] (after the other properties for eliminations have been completed). Take same for five days at a period, one minim in a half glass of water each morning upon arising. Then leave it off for a week; then repeat again for three or four or five periods (of five days at a period).” – Cayce

“We would use also periods of the Atomic Iodine™, or Atomidine; using it in periods of two weeks and then have a rest period of leaving it off a week, and then take again for two weeks, and repeat this for three or four times, when there SHOULD be sufficient reaction in the system; that is, provided the diets, the manipulations and the adjustments are followed.”

“First we would add small quantities of the iodine in the form of the Atomidine [Atomic Iodine™], that may be taken internally; thus forming an activity with the thyroid and the lymph flow through all actions of the gland forces in the body and purifying same. Take one minim in half a glass of water before the morning meal, each day, for a period of two weeks. Then leave off for a week. Then take two weeks more. Then gradually, as the changes come about – with better circulatory forces, better activity throughout the system – it may be left off.”

“(Q) Any other specific foods harmful for this body? If so, what?
(A) That that is hard of digestion, or that that carries large quantities of grease or large quantities of fats, is harmful to the body – until there can be created that sufficient for the carrying of, or caring for, this character of digestive forces in the system. As fermentations are necessary for the assimilation in a body, there must be the proper division of potashes and of Iodines in the system. As fats make for those that require an excess amount of potassium activity, then these being of a low activity in the present, with the not sufficient quantity of the Iodine content that works with these fats or greases – or fried, or any condition or any preparation that carries large quantities of grease or fats not good. As indicated, there has been outlined a very good diet. These would be very well to follow, changing only as conditions are helped and made more or nearer normal.” -Cayce
